World Book Day – 3rd March 2022

We have had so much fun reading, sharing and talking about books today. The children looked fantastic in their amazing costumes and we want to say a massive thank you to our parents for their creativity and support. The children have been exploring their book characters in class through a selection of drama activities. Each class has been given a recently published novel to enjoy reading for the rest of the half term and the children in Foundation had a special visit from author Kirstie Watson who read one of her books to them. Mrs Sheridan read her favourite book The Pirate’s Next Door in the library during lunchtime and many pupils went along to enjoy the story. Today is also the first day of our Readathon where our pupils will be raising money for the charity Read For Good. Read For Good supply children’s hospitals with new books and storyteller visits.
