Our Class Novels
During the year, the children will have the opportunity to listen to the teacher read a selection of books. We have listed the books below for your information.
Homework
Each week the children are expected to complete at least 4 reads to an adult, learn their spelling focus and practise their times tables. If your child is finding any of this difficult, please talk to your child’s class teacher.
Reading
Children are expected to read at least four times a week at home. Please log all reading experiences in your child’s reading diary. Reading diaries are checked once a week and the class with the most reads each week is announced in Friday’s celebration assembly. Each child in the winning class will receive a golden ticket.
Spellings
Children are set weekly spelling tasks on spelling shed (click on link below to log in). These tasks and games help pupils to practise their weekly spelling focus. All pupils take part in a weekly quiz on a Friday which includes words that follow the focus pattern. Log in details are in your child’s reading diary.
Multiplication
Children are encouraged to learn their multiplication facts up to and including the 12 times table using this online game tool called Times Tables Rock Stars (click on link below to log in). Log in details are in your child’s reading diary.
PE Days
Children should come to school dressed in their PE kit on PE days. A list of appropriate PE kit can be found by clicking here.
